Working History:

With over two decades of experience in accounting, it is fair to say I’ve been in the game for a little while. My journey began back in 2003 when I started my career at Deloitte. In 2006, I ventured across the pond for a brief stint in the bustling financial hub of London, spending just under a year there. But home beckoned, and I returned to New Zealand, where I continued to hone my skills as a chartered accountant right here in Christchurch.

Eight years down the line, I made a strategic move to Rangiora, where I joined the dynamic team at Prosser Quirke. A year later, I proudly assumed the role of Director, and I guess you could say I’ve become part of the furniture.

About Me:

Enjoying what I do makes achieving a work-life balance much more achievable. Within our working environment, I find immense satisfaction in collaborating closely with clients to help them achieve their goals and desired outcomes, ultimately assisting them in finding their own balance. Equally important to me is fostering the growth and development of our staff and the firm as a whole, as we work together to meet the goals and targets we set.

Outside of the office, you’ll find me happiest in the great outdoors. My keenest interests include fishing, diving, and hunting, with a healthy dose of rugby thrown in for good measure. However, I’m always up for trying my hand at or supporting most sports whenever the opportunity arises. I’m also incredibly fortunate to have a very active family that keeps me on my toes.

Working History:

As a Director of Prosser Quirke, I’ve had the privilege of serving in this role for over 16 years, right here in Rangiora. My career has been a journey through the dynamic world of finance and accounting.

I laid the foundation for my professional path by pursuing education at both the University of Canterbury and Lincoln. It was during this time that I embarked on my journey to become a Chartered Accountant, which I accomplished while gaining valuable experience at Ernst & Young from 1994 to 1997.

My career then took me overseas to London, where I spent three years working with prestigious financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank and J.P.Morgan.

Upon returning to New Zealand, I transitioned into the corporate world, first as a Design Engineer for a treasury software company and later as a Financial Controller for a medium-sized import, wholesale, and retail business. This diverse experience provided me with a deep understanding of how businesses operate.

I find immense satisfaction in working with a diverse range of clients, including those in the farming and business communities of North Canterbury. My commitment lies in helping our clients achieve their goals and thrive.

About Me:

Outside of the office, I have a passion for giving back to the community. Over the years, I’ve been actively involved in various school, sports, and community groups, often taking on roles like Treasurer or Chairman. Community involvement is a way for me to contribute to the growth and well-being of the area I call home.

Family is at the core of my life. I’m happily married to Sarah, and we reside in Swannanoa. We have two children, both of whom have grown up and left home.

Balancing work and play is essential to me, and I do it by staying active. You’ll often find me on the tennis court, golf course, or even enjoying a game of pickleball. These activities reflect my dedication to both my professional responsibilities and my personal well-being.

Working History:

I bring over 15 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant, with a background in both the agricultural and commercial sectors. My career began in Southland, where I spent 8 years honing my skills at a respected firm. Later, I transitioned to Brown Glassford & Co in Canterbury, where I deepened my understanding of financial matters in the agriculture sector.

However, my career took a new direction when I stepped into the role of Finance & Operations Manager in the retail sector. This experience broadened my knowledge, bridging the gap between retail and agriculture. During this time, I discovered my true passion for assisting clients with their financial needs, which I’m excited to bring to Prosser Quirke.

My primary goal is to empower our clients by helping them gain a comprehensive understanding of their financial situations. I work closely with them to optimize their businesses, whether it involves budget management, streamlining financial processes, or offering practical financial advice. My ultimate aim is to guide our clients in achieving their business objectives through smart financial management.

About Me:

Outside of work, I enjoy life in Tuahiwi with my wife. North Canterbury offers a wealth of recreational activities, and I take full advantage of them. Whether it’s hiking, fishing, riding my motorbike or simply spending time outdoors, I appreciate the opportunities this region provides.

I also have a fondness/obsession for American Football and follow the sport with enthusiasm whenever possible.

Working History:

I began my journey by studying at the University of Canterbury, graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor of Commerce. In May 2019, I made the move to Prosser Quirke after gaining valuable experience at the chartered accountants’ firm, Canterbury Accountants.

With over 7 years of experience in the accounting industry, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients across different industries. I believe in working with my clients, alongside them to help make their lives easier and less stressful. Working closely with my clients creates a more relaxed and personable experience for everyone. This way, they can focus their time and efforts on the things that are most important to them.

About Me:

The move to Rangiora was a logical one, as I am a local with deep roots firmly established in North Canterbury.

Beyond my professional life, spending quality time with my young family is a top priority for me. I also prioritize staying physically active, and on Saturdays, you’ll often find me on the rugby field, representing the Ohoka Rugby Club. It’s where my passion for sports and community engagement come together.

Working History:

My career journey began with a solo office gig at North Canterbury Federated Farmers right out of school. In this role, I wore many hats, handling tasks ranging from taking meeting minutes to supporting payroll and GST alongside the in-house accountant.

Following that, I ventured to San Francisco, where I dabbled in various administrative roles. Returning to New Zealand, I joined a building supply company which evolved into an Office Manager position. This allowed me to manage staff and meet the growing administrative demands of the business.

Then came a pivotal shift in my life as I became a mother while managing the administration and office duties for our expanding building business and juggling the challenges of work-life balance, especially with unpredictable office hours.

Transitioning again, I took on the day-to-day operations of a local business, managing customer relations and ensuring smooth operations during the owners’ absence. Armed with this valuable experience, I joined the Prosser Quirke team in 2018, and I haven’t looked back.

About Me:

Beyond the world of numbers and accounting, my passions revolve around connecting with people and living a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy heading out for hikes, especially in pursuit of beautiful scenery. House-sitting has become a significant part of my life and a unique way for me to explore new places, allowing me to travel to different regions and experience various lifestyles.

In my spare time, I also have a love for handcrafts, anything I have time for that involves wool and fibre, along with a passion for reading and continuous learning, all of which enrich my life outside of work.
